On December 27, 2022, the China Immigration Administration announced optimizing immigration management policies and measures starting from January 8, 2023. It will resume accepting and approving foreigners' applications for extension, renewal, and reissuance of ordinary visas and short-term and long-term residence permits.
After the optimization of the border entry-exit policy, the international civil aviation market has also ushered in heavily positive news. On December 28, China’s Civil Aviation Administration issued a notice clarifying that starting from January 8, 2023, many restrictions on international flight traffic canceled.
As many airlines successively open, resume, and increase the number of international routes to and from China, the international civil aviation market is recovering significantly. This policy adjustment will further stimulate the recovery of international passenger flow.
As of December 22, Hainan Airlines has resumed and newly opened a total of 13 international and regional passenger routes including Beijing-Brussels. In the season of winter 2022 and spring 2023, Hainan Airlines will continue to accelerate the resumption of international flights to further meet the market demand for passengers visiting China.
In addition to domestic airlines, many foreign airlines are also actively resuming passenger international flights to and from China. It is reported that Singapore Airlines announced that it would resume direct passenger flight services from Singapore to Beijing on December 30.
